The Nordic Council Literature Prize

 

The Nordic Council Literature Prize was founded by the governments of the Nordic countries in 1961. The prize was awarded for the first time in 1962 in connection with the Nordic Councils Session. The prize was originally worth 50,000 Danish kroner but since 1995 the amount has been 350,000 Danish kroner. The Nordic Councils Literature Prize is awarded every year.
