Karnauskaitė - Mažeikienė Elena, poetess.
Born on April 4, 1964 in Šašaičiai (Kretinga district).
After finishing Jokūbavas 8-class school, she attended the 1st Secondary School in Kretinga. At that date (1979 – 1982) a poetess Bronė Liniauskienė taught and, that greatly influenced the future litterateurs. After finishing the Secondary School, she started her studies of the Lithuanian and French languages at Vilnius State University. During her studentship, the young poetess participated in an activity of the University litterateurs, which at that time was leaded by M. Martinaitis.
In 1987, after graduating the University, she worked as a teacher at Jokūbavas Primary School.
Since 1989, the poetess has settled in Palanga, worked as a teacher of the Lithuanian language at V. Jurgutis Secondary School.
