Žalys Bronius, poet.
Was born in Gaigaliai, Šimonys, on September 8, 1921.
In 1944 he moved to Germany. In 1949 he reached Australia, where he attended gymnasium and school of post. After that he worked at a service of telecommunications. Žalys Bronius is a journalist, social worker and activist of scouts. In 1945-1947 he worked as an editorial secretary and technical editor at Fulda (Germany) weekly publication ‘Mūsų viltis’, daily bulletin ‘Šiandien’, monthly publication ‘Tėviškės aidas’ and magazine ‘Pėdsakai’. In 1947-1949 living in Belgium, he worked at an editorial office of a social semi-monthly newspaper ‘Gimtoji šalis’. In 1954-1969 he edited a monthly newspaper of Australia Lithuanian Scouts ‘Pėdsekys’, since 1977 – ‘Tėvynės židinys’. In 1970-1980 – a member of an editorial staff of magazines ‘Skautų aidas’ and ‘Mūsų Vytis’ edited in Chicago. Since 1991 he has edited a weekly publication of Australia Lithuanian community ‘Mūsų pastogė’. He is a member of the Lithuanian journalists and writers unions, a circle of the Lithuanian litterateurs and the Pen club.

Was awarded with orders of the Lithuanian Scouts Union: in 1959, 1961, 1972 and 1982 – for the activity of the Lithuanian Scouts.
