Navakas Kęstutis, poet, essayist, literary critic, translator.
Was born in Šeimyniškiai, Utena district, on February 24, 1964.
In 1982 he finished J. Aleksonis Secondary School in Kaunas. In 1987-1988 he was a chairman of Kaunas Young Writers section of the LWU. In 1994-1996 he wrote articles to weekly columns of culture and books for newspapers Kauno diena and Noriu; in 1998-1999 – presented new books at Lithuanian Television. In 1996 he opened his own bookshop Septynios vienatvės. In 2002 he arranged a broadcast Kultūros namai at Lithuanian Television. In 2001-2003 he was awarded with the State Scholarship. At the present time he cooperates in a weekly Nemunas.
Since 1993 – the member of LWU.

"Kauno diena" prize of the 2003.
Salon "Balta varna"  prize  for the most elegant proze of the 2004.
"Mūzų malūnas" prize  for the best book of the 2005.
Poetry Spring award for the best essay of the 2006.
J. Lindė-Dobilas award of the 2006.
Jotvingiai Prize of the 2006.
National Culture and Art Prize Laureate of the 2006.
