Critics’ word: V. Asovskis in his own way continues a tradition of the Russian poetical school of the Silver age. His texts characterize with classical form. Pushing off from a frugal empirical detail, a metaphysical level is reached with no exaltation. Tension is being smothered by an armour of restrained tongue. The last collection of poems shows renewal of the poet creation: texts gain a shape of the assumed accidental flow. Sometimes, a few motifs are polyphonically developed, leaning on laws of musical composition. He had translated into the Russian poems of many Lithuanian poets, that were published in periodical.Working actively in a field literary critic for some decades, V. Asovskis published tens articles and reviews on creation of his contemporaries in periodical.
