Daugirdas Romas, poet.
Was born in Vilnius, on July 13, 1951.
In 1974 he finished studies of psychology at Vilnius University. After that, he worked at Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law, from 1982 at editorial offices of Lietuvos pionierius, later, of a magazine Vilnius.
Since 1989 - the member of LWU.

R. Daugirdas represents the antilyric stylistic trend of the Lithuanian poesy, what features a protest of ragged poetical speech expressed by the spirit of the hippies and the beatniks. In his creation no emotional, but logical and intellectual origin with scientific terminology, mathematical formulas and slang prevails.

Vilius Gužauskas
