Landsbergis Vytautas, poet, prose writer, playwright.
Was born in Vilnius on May 25, 1962.
Graduated studies of the Lithuanian Philology at Vilnius University, studies of film direction at Theatre Institute of Shota Rustaveli in Tbilisi (Georgia), later, deepened his knowledge on film direction at J. Mekas in Anthology Film Archives in New York, after that, studied at K. Kieslowski and K. Zannussi in Poland.
He published three books of poems, five storybooks for children, he also composed four plays, and the three of them were staged by himself in various Lithuanian theatres. A storybook ‘The Stories of the Red-nose’ (Rudnosiuko istorijos) was awarded as the best book for children for the year 1993.
V. V. Landsbergis founded a cinema and video studio ‘A PROPOS’, in which documentary and scenic films are being produced. Throughout the fifteen years of the cinematographic activity V. V. Landsbergis had produced eighteen documentary and two scenic films. The recent scenic film for children, whose screenplay was written by the author himself by Brothers Grimms fairy-tale ‘Hansel and Gretel’ (Jonukas ir Grytutė) was produced in 2002.
