Šerelytė Renata, prose writer, poetess, playwright and literary critic.
Was born in Šimoniai, Kupiškis district, on May 11, 1970.
In 1988 she finished Šimonys Secondary School and for one year worked at a school library. In 1994 she finished studies of the Lithuanian language and literature at Vilnius University, worked at a magazine for children Žvaigždutė, cultural weekly 7 meno dienos and magazine Jaunimo gretos.
Renata Šerelytė debuted in 1986, when a magazine Moksleivis published her poems. The first collection of short stories Fish Cleaning (Žuvies darinėjimas) appeared in 1995. Later, she published some more collections of short stories, a collection of adventure historical stories, a novel, a collection of poems for children and plays. The Destiny of Junda (Jundos lemtis) was granted the best book for children of a Lithuanian writer of 1997 (the premium of Šarūnas Marčiulionis). Short stories of R. Šerelytė had been translated into the English, French, Swedish, Russian, Georgian, Polish and other languages, included into the newest anthologies. The writer lives in Vilnius.
