Stasys Babonas – prose writer.
He was born 29 May, 1960 in Ražaičiai, Raseiniai district.
In 1978 he finished Antanas Jonynas Secondary school for the blind. During the years of 1981-1986 he studied at Šiauliai Pedagogical University and acquired specialty of Tiflopedagogue. In 1990-1991 he studied psychology at Vilnius University. He worked as a manager of Cultural House and Union of Sighted and Blind. He was a chairman of the Lithuanian Union of Sighted and Blind in Kaunas and Marijampolė districts (manager of Kaunas department since 2005). His first poem was published in 1976 in a literary almanack for the blind “Vaivorykštė”. His short stories were published in “Vaivorykštė”, “Kauno tiesa”, “Kauno diena”, “Mūsų žodis” and its supplements as well as in local Jurbarkas press.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 2009.
