Vladas Kalvaitis – poet, prose writer.
He was born 27 June, 1929 in Radviliškis.
In 1942-1948 he studied at Radviliškis Gymnasium. In 1948 he was arrested for participating in underground activity. He spent his sentence in Komi Republic, Inta and later he was sent to Irkutsk. In 1964 he finished his studies at Irkutsk University and acquired a specialty of a philologist and teacher of Russian language. In 1966 he came back to Lithuania and worked at Veliučionys Special school, later he worked at Tytuvėnai Agricultural Technicum and after that at Extramural Secondary school in Kelmė district.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 2008.
