Elena Kurklietytė – prose writer.
She was born 11 March, 1933 in Skemiai village, Rokiškis district.
She went to Obeliai Secondary school and in 1950 she finished Secondary school in Rokiškis. In her last year of studying she started working at editorial office of “Tarybinis Rokiškis” newspaper. In 1952 she began her studies of journalism at Vilnius University and while studying she worked at editorial office of newspaper “Tiesa”. After she got her diploma, in 1957 she worked at satirical magazine “Šluota”. In 1959 she went to Tallinn to work at editorial office “Tarybinė Estija”. When back in Vilnius, in 1967 she started to work at Lithuanian Radio.
A member of Lithuanina Writers’ Union since 2015.
