Saulius Stoma – prose writer.
He was born 29 July, 1954 in Kaunas.
In 1977 he finished his studies at Vilnius Engineering Institute, Faculty of Agriculture. He worked as an architect for one year and as a guard of parking lot for some time. In 1979 he moved to Kaunas and worked at Construction and Architecture Research Institute. In 1981 he came back to Vilnius and started working at “Vyriausia enciklopedijų redakcija”. In 1988 he started working at editorial office of “Literatūra ir menas” as a reporter and later as an editor in department of fine arts and architecture. In 1989 he participated in recreation of the Lithuanian Party of Christian Democrats. He was one of the founders and editors of weekly newspaper “Šiaurės Atėnai” in 1990. Then he worked as an editor in chief at editorial office of “Lietuvos aidas”, as a reporter at “Lietuvos rytas” and as an editor in chief of “Lietuvos žinios” (1996-1997). In 1997 he was sentenced for financial affairs. During the years of 2008-2012 he was a member of The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. His debut in cultural press was in 1976.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 2003.
