Rita Latvėnaitė-Kairienė (Rita Kairienė) – poetess, prose writer.
She was born 13 January, 1960 in Klaipėda.
She finished 19th Secondary school in Klaipėda. In 1978 she started her studies of Lithuanian language and literature at Vilnius University. After her studies she came back to Klaipėda and was an active member of Klaipėda’s Young Writers’ Section. She worked at editorial office of newspaper “Klaipėda” for several years and since 1988 she works as a teacher at “Aukuras” Secondary school. She is a member of IBBY.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 2009.
